Nitinat Lake is located in the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island, British Columbia and is popular among windsurfers and kiteboarding enthusiasts because of it's unique thermal winds. If you don't kite or windsurf, Nitinat is still a beautiful place to camp, hike and watch the madness of this new sport...KITEBOARDING.
Todd and I love it. It is such an amazing sport. You use the power of the wind to rip through the water on a board that is like a wakeboard/surfboard. Todd and I spent the long weekend camping, eating smores and kiting everyday. Aside from a broken muffler, a flat tire and a body drag session that threw Todd almost 20 feet in the air (no exageration!) - the weekend was perfect!

You know, kiteboarding is dangerous, someone might get hurt or tossed into the air or something...nevermind...
Looks like you guys had a blast! Would have loved to seen it in person, I love watching the sport, it's awesome to see!

You should meet my friend Goosh if you haven't already, he's as crazy as you two...maybe even crazier, he loves the kitesurfing, you'd all get along famously. Plus he spins fire.
